History

The 16-mile national crown jewel runs smoothly through the heart of Charlotte-Macklenburg.
In the early years of its transformation, several sections of the magical Little Sugar Creek were either rerouted or covered by the numerous parking lots. Little Sugar was exposed to some of the city’s oldest neighborhoods, making it vulnerable to many years of pollution and human interference.
